How to install Gate Hook and locks eyes?
They resemble http://www.jackstoolshed.com/index/page/product/product_id/1571/product_name/2-Piece+Gate+Hook+and+Eye+Set+-+Regular+and+Spring-Loaded+Safety + Lock but without the spring part. I need to know how to install them because I have no instructions. I do not know if I'm the hammer in a bit, then screw the rest, or what.
First, put the hook in the eye and find the location where you want to go and holding both together and hooked to the point of the screw side (away from you) that you can Strait or parallel to each other. Then mark with a pen or pencil where the screws will go towards the hook and eye side. Then drill a pilot hole with a drill bit slightly smaller diameter and the screws themselves. Do not hammer because you lose the screws or wood where you insert. and you need only drill the screws far enough to have something to grab.and then once that is done the screws until you can not see the screws and just see the round Lopes.
