Black Crawfish
Why is my tongue itches when I eat shrimp?
I can eat more seafood such as scallops, clams, fish, oysters, mussels, but when I eat shrimp my tongue starts to itch. I can eat crab cakes, crab rolls, but sometimes it itches and Most of the time it does not work. I would like to try lobster and crawfish, but I fear that my tongue itches. My guess is the chemical reaction that transforms shrimp, black to pink .... maybe? I think its iodine? Does anyone know?
I agree with JB and let me add that I have but the same problem occurs only with shrimp from Thailand is the most common. Try some of Gulf shrimp, and I bet you not all problems. Good luck, Jarrod
