Catfishing Help! PLEASE !!!!!! (Ohio)?

So me and my dad are going fishing tonight! We are Coast fishing, since we have no boat. So, here are the baits that I have! Shad, liver, robots night, leeches, crayfish soft. Me and my dad did not catch any fish over 4 kg! We're not very good fisher cat, this is just inside. So with that said, where should we be looking for catfish, and to what extent should we be casting? I made a good amount of research on catfish, and they say they are moving deep, shallow and do not keep your stick in the same place for more than an hour. Help please!

I wish you would have included the body or bodies of water that you fish. I am a fisher cat Ohio and perhaps too I would have helped in some places to try in your area. The mixture of baits that you seem pretty good. Earthworms and the liver must be good for channel cats. If shad are pretty good size and the dead, you can try to cut them into small pieces for the channel cats. Also remove the fins. If shad are alive, try to use overall for flatheads. I use live suckers up to 14 inches long by flatheads where I'm fishing. I got on the northeast corner of the state, but if I'm looking to catch a lot of cats and have a bigger chance of me toward the Ohio River. You can fish both sides of the river, at least the eastern part, with a license in Ohio. There are many places shore fishing up and down river. Below the dams are always a good place, but wherever you are fishing on the Ohio you have a legit shot at catching a fish in the class 30-40 pounds. I use heavy equipment for casting with 20 or 25 pound test. Size 1 or 2 hooks have always worked for me. I use fairly large egg sinkers or fishing sinkers bank secured to the line can slip through them. There are many current, sometimes below the dams and want to make sure you can hit the bottom of your installation is blown downstream. Mosquito Lake is another good catfishing destination with a nice mix of channel cats and the Flatheads. Lakes watershed as Clendening, Leesville, Atwood, Seneca and Piedmont are the lakes catfish great. Sandusky Bay, near Lake Erie is loaded with channel cats. Wherever you are in the state that you have really good, world class, even catfishing nearby. If you're not too far, try to talk the father in a trip to the Ohio River. I've done in my area on the Lake Erie to East Liverpool in just over an hour and a half. The trip is almost always worthwhile.
